ⓘ What do the party and ideology labels mean?

On the ballot, partisan candidates run under a party — in Wisconsin almost always Democratic or Republican, with the occasional third-party or independent candidate. Words like progressive, conservative, libertarian, or democratic socialist are labels people use to describe themselves, not separate parties on the ballot. A label is a starting point; each candidate's sourced positions show where they actually stand.

ⓘ What is a voting record showing me?

A roll-call vote is a recorded yes/no vote in the legislature; 'aye' means yes and 'no' means no. A 'deciding vote' is one that changed the outcome. These are the candidate's actual recorded votes, linked to the official record.

    • Yesterday, I had a fantastic time traveling through the beautiful 49th Assembly District for a full day of meetings and tours. The day began at Sunrise Orchard in Crawford County with great conversation, warm apple pie, and fresh apples courtesy of the Sustain Rural Wisconsin Network — an outstanding group doing important work to support our rural communities. I then toured North Crawford Schools with District Superintendent Brandon Munson and School Board President Terry O'Donnell. The facilities are impressive, and the commitment of the staff truly stood out. In Fennimore, I had the pleasure of visiting Carr Valley Cheese for a tour and tasting — the cheese was phenomenal! I was also honored to receive the 2025 Cheese Champion Award from the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association — truly a highlight of the day. We wrapped up the day with a visit to St. Dominic Villa, where I had the privilege of speaking with residents and learning about the many positive improvements made to the facility over the past year. It was a pleasure connecting with both staff and residents — thank you all for the warm welcome!
