ⓘ What do the party and ideology labels mean?

On the ballot, partisan candidates run under a party — in Wisconsin almost always Democratic or Republican, with the occasional third-party or independent candidate. Words like progressive, conservative, libertarian, or democratic socialist are labels people use to describe themselves, not separate parties on the ballot. A label is a starting point; each candidate's sourced positions show where they actually stand.

ⓘ What is a voting record showing me?

A roll-call vote is a recorded yes/no vote in the legislature; 'aye' means yes and 'no' means no. A 'deciding vote' is one that changed the outcome. These are the candidate's actual recorded votes, linked to the official record.

    • I am so grateful for this amazing family! It was a HOT one in River Falls at the parade, but they never quit! :-) I'm proud of what I've been able to get done in Madison, it's personal to me, both for them and for you. Our parade exit path took us by the UWRF Science & Technology building that I worked to make a reality.

    • Hudson, you NEVER disappoint! This year you took it up a notch or two. America's 250 was the year to do it! What a great and engaging crowd today for the Hudson Booster Days parade. I want to extend a sincere thank you for the kind reception and strong support. Your words make all the difference and it reminds me why I love the St Croix Valley so much! To my family who travels this road with me, I am a blessed man. Thank you as well. ;-) I am asking for your vote on November 3rd. See you soon!

    • I am honored to be supported by Sheriff Scott Knudson. We have worked together on a variety of issues and he is a constant resource for me as we both seek ways to keep our neighborhoods safe and secure. With your vote, you can be assured that I will maintain my unwavering support of all our great law enforcement professionals across the St Croix Valley.

    • Tom Tiffany and I are 'all in' to protect our great state. The tale of two states reveal a stark contrast. Corruption, fraud and a lack of support for law enforcement=MN. WI=The top destination for MN exile, we support law enforcement and every single session we chip away at taxes to make things more affordable. I am honored to have Tom's support and I believe he will make an amazing Governor! Vote Zimmerman (and Tiffany) on Nov 3rd.

    • We can't say we want compromise and progress and then vote against it. It is precisely what is wrong in politics. Wisconsin has a rare opportunity to do something meaningful: deliver real tax relief for hardworking families while increasing support for our special education kids. Governor Evers and Republicans don’t agree on everything, and that’s okay. But on this issue, we found common ground and a compromise worth passing. Leaving billions sitting in the state treasury while families struggle makes no sense. Concerns about broader school funding are valid, and those discussions should continue. But we can act now on tax relief and special education support. I, along with a few of my colleagues sent a letter today requesting the Governor call for a second Special Session. On this matter, I will have Republican colleagues disagree with me, as well as Democrat colleagues. That is ok, we are all not meant to agree on everything. The basis and rationale to keep this in the treasury escapes me-- it all feels very political and that is either gamesmanship or decisions to keep your job versus doing it. Contact the Governor and tell him you support bipartisan cooperation, real and meaningful tax relief and support for our kids with the tax money you have paid: https://wi.accessgov.com/public/Forms/Page/governor/voice-an-opinion/1
