ⓘ What do the party and ideology labels mean?

On the ballot, partisan candidates run under a party — in Wisconsin almost always Democratic or Republican, with the occasional third-party or independent candidate. Words like progressive, conservative, libertarian, or democratic socialist are labels people use to describe themselves, not separate parties on the ballot. A label is a starting point; each candidate's sourced positions show where they actually stand.

    • This past session I fought hard to eliminate taxes on retirement income for all retirees. After paying taxes your entire working career, you should be able to KEEP your money when you need it the most. Senate Democrats voted NO, and now they want control of my seat and the finance committee on which I serve. If you think life is expensive now, watch what happens if Republicans lose. We CAN’T let that happen! Vote! 🗳️

    • At a minimum, Wisconsinites want guardrails around data centers. This shouldn’t be partisan. Communities like Menomonie shouldn’t be left alone to protect ratepayers. When he had a chance to put in guardrails, Jeff Smith voted NO. When Jeff asks for your vote on November 3rd, tell him the same thing — NO! 👎

    • Last year I visited with area families who were struggling with dementia. After hearing many of their stories, I knew I had to do something. Here in WI there is no definition of “memory care.” Under my new legislation, residential care facilities will have to incorporate certain training in order to advertise themselves as memory care units. This “truth in labeling” will support families as they make tough decisions regarding the care of their loved ones. Watch the video below to learn more! ⬇️

    • Government agencies now have the ability to regulate and tax your businesses WITHOUT legislative input. Today we took the first step in trying to stop Evers from hiking fees on our farmers. You didn’t elect these bureaucrats, so you shouldn’t be ruled by them. I will never stop fighting this crazy overreach. 🐄 🌾 #taxationwithoutrepresentation

In a few more years these helpers will make butchering much faster! I hope you had a successful season! ♣️🥃🃏 #deerseason2025 #traditions #Wisconsin

    • 🚨 Governor Evers is about to hammer livestock producers with massive fee increases. This could threaten the closure of Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales locations like Barron and Altoona, forcing farmers to travel even farther and erasing margins. 🐄 📉 🐑 The crazy part is I can’t help you — Tony sued us and took away our oversight. YOU need to step up for your neighbors and tell the Dept. of Agriculture NO massive fee hikes!

These industry stakeholders work hard every day to keep our sporting heritage alive, and I will continue to support their efforts. • What Governor Tony Evers doesn’t tell you is that his proposal GUTS this program (that Republicans created) by $100 MILLION, and robs the FORESTRY ACCOUNT to keep it partially going. His budget is full of gimmicks like this, and he’s hoping nobody is paying attention. Hey Governor — I’m paying attention! 👋

    • Taxing Tony Playbook…. ⬇️ 1. Propose a budget that blows through the surplus and explodes the deficit. 2. Force the legislature to right size the proposal and lower the 𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚. 3. Blame the Republicans and call the eventual increases “cuts.” 4. Repeat same lie over and over until election season. I’m sorry to break it to the Governor’s staff who writes this script for him, but the public isn’t buying what you’re selling anymore! 👎

    • Last week Representative Chanz Green and I introduced legislation that would allow Superior Water, Light & Power to obtain federal support for lead line replacement. Today I took a tour of their water treatment facility. The City of Superior is the ONLY community in WI that is currently blocked from receiving help. Our bill would mean lower rates and quicker replacement for residents. 💦
