ⓘ What do the party and ideology labels mean?
On the ballot, partisan candidates run under a party — in Wisconsin almost always Democratic or Republican, with the occasional third-party or independent candidate. Words like progressive, conservative, libertarian, or democratic socialist are labels people use to describe themselves, not separate parties on the ballot. A label is a starting point; each candidate's sourced positions show where they actually stand.

🍎📚 Our children are our future leaders and caretakers. It is in all of our best interests to make sure every child in Wisconsin has the resources they need to reach their full potential — no matter their socioeconomic status or the economic health of the community they call home. For the past 16 years, Republicans have held complete control of our legislature and its education committees. Under that control, Wisconsin has witnessed the intentional and chronic underfunding of our beloved public schools. Using the power derived from one of the nation’s most extreme gerrymanders, Republicans dismantled the teachers’ union. Then they expanded the school voucher program — funneling our taxpayer dollars into private and religious schools at public schools’ expense. Together, these choices have driven the historic wave of referendums on Wisconsin ballots in recent years, and the higher property taxes that come with them. So I’ll ask the question Republicans should have to answer: what have they actually done for public schools with 16 years of unchecked legislative power? Why strip teachers of their union rights? Why chronically underfund our public schools while growing a voucher program that diverts public money to private and religious institutions? And why did the legislature ignore the bipartisan Blue Ribbon Commission’s recommendations for 7 years — the same recommendations everyone agreed our public schools needed? 2026 is our chance to finally flip Wisconsin’s legislature and put leaders in power who actually want to invest in our children, our public schools, and our future. Help me get voters to the polls on November 3rd, and together, let’s deliver the #Accountability Wisconsin public schools deserve. 🗳️💙

This race is bigger than one Assembly seat. It's bigger than Wisconsin's 99 Assembly and 17 Senate contests, larger than the over 6,000 legislative races in the country, greater than Congress itself. It's about American values and the American dream. It's about decency. It's about the more perfect union we all deserve. And it starts with us taking back control from chaos and destruction. Help pull the emergency brake on the Republican madness and ask your friends if they're voting. Offer a ride to the polls or celebrate together afterward with a drink. This is up to all of us to blaze a new trail for our future. #GetOutTheVote #oneteamonedream

A gerrymander is a rigged map. Wisconsin’s was so skewed, it was considered one of the county’s most extreme for many years running. Gerrymanders are an abuse of power and what Republicans in this state chose to do with that unchecked power was shove far-right legislation down Wisconsin’s throat; it was wrong then and it’s still wrong today. In 2018, Democrats started clawing their way back to power by winning a large majority of statewide races, including flipping the ideological balance of our Supreme Court in 2023, which ushered in new maps. The 2026 midterms are an incredible moment where momentum and hard work meets opportunity - and I think we will see BIG results. Gone are the days of the all-or-nothing legislature and committees in Wisconsin ✌️🗳️

Republicans pushed Wisconsin's voucher school program using gerrymandered power. This decision does not reflect the will of the average voter, as it is siphoning taxpayer money to fund private and religious schools while holding them to a lower standard of accountability. You can bet changes will be made if Democrats flip the legislature and elect David Crowley. Help public schools by helping get out the vote. Check in with friends and family and ask them to show up for our public schools. #VoteForChange

The Republican-controlled legislature didn’t reauthorize the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program for the first time in 37 years, despite the program having broad, bipartisan support. Wisconsin deserves so much #better. Get out and vote for change this Nov. 3rd 🗳️

Republicans were big mad when the Wisconsin Supreme Court determined, in a near unanimous decision, that they could no longer anonymously object to and block Knowles-Nelson Stewardship projects because it violated the separation of powers. The same day that the 6-1 Wisconsin Supreme Court decision was delivered, Republicans in the Joint Finance Committee stated the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship program was in “jeopardy” if they couldn’t have their brand of oversight. Mind you, the court determined their brand of oversight “intruded” on the governor’s executive power. Their oversight also allowed zero transparency to know who or why Knowles-Nelson projects were indefinitely delayed and being objected to. That’s not democracy, folks - it’s an unconstitutional power grab. And that is why the bipartisan Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program was not reauthorized for the first time in 37 years. Wiscosnin deserves so much #better. Get out and vote for change this Nov 3rd. 🗳️

I don’t like bullies or abuses of power, and I certainly do not agree with the all-or-nothing form of politics Republicans have been playing in our state for nearly two decades. 16 years of total Republican control of committees and majorities in both chambers of our Legislature, and this is what Republicans chose to do with that power. This is their best example of legislative representation for our state and all our laws. 100% control. Even though Democrats have been winning over 50% of votes statewide in some elections, Republican-drawn maps allowed Republicans to hold majorities in both the state Assembly and state Senate for nearly two decades, and used that power to silence their opposition. It wasn't like this before Wisconsin's most extreme gerrymander took effect in 2012. In 2011, Republicans left the Capitol building for the first time ever to draw up a new set of legislative maps in the back room of a lawyer's office across the street from the Capitol. They drew the maps in secrecy and made representatives sign confidentiality agreements to see their districts' new boundaries. Wisconsin Republicans had just rigged the maps using sophisticated computer software and giving themselves locked-in majorities in both chambers. The result was the ability to always remain in control of the Legislature every decade when new maps are drawn by the majority party in the Legislature. AND POOF, the plan was complete for Democrats to never get control of committees or the Wisconsin Legislature ever again. The data doesn't lie. Only a tiny fraction of bills authored first by a Democrat came out of committee during their gerrymandered reign. Meaning nearly no Dem-authored laws. And no meaningful say in budgets. Democratic ideas, proposals and solutions were silenced. But their plan didn't work. Wisconsin voters organized and fought ALL the way back to fair maps! Organizing after Act 10 and around fair maps, tireless county parties and elected officials holding the line, anti-Trump movements and then-chair Ben Wikler helped push Wisconsin Democrats over the finish line. Finally, the 2023 election of Janet Protasiewicz to the Wisconsin Supreme Court helped usher in new and fair maps. And we're not done. I would argue that we're just getting started. Some of us are going to win in November and some of us are not, but that's not going to stop our march towards balanced power and real representation. There is no stopping us now. We are going to keep fighting cycle after cycle after cycle. We are going to keep organizing. We are going to keep collaborating. And we are going to keep building community, coalitions and voting blocs. Wisconsin has shown that no map, no back room, and no amount of power can silence people who refuse to give up. Our grandparents and great grandparents built this state on the belief that government belongs to the people, and it's our turn to prove them right. So knock on the door. Make the call. Run for the school board, the county board, the Legislature. Bring a neighbor to the polls. The future of Wisconsin isn't written in a back room or with secret maps. It's written by those of us who show up, and I hope to see you there! #VotingIsPower 🗳️

Many Wisconsinites believe public tax dollars should go to public schools. The voucher program was expanded under a legislature elected from gerrymandered maps, and polls show its support is divided at best. It's time for new leadership that will scale back the program and redirect that funding to our public schools. #vote for public schools Nov. 3🗳️📚

The Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program is a treasured, bipartisan program that has brought in millions to Door County to preserve and protect our natural areas that are directly linked to the economy. Now it has expired because the Republican-controlled legislature failed to reauthorize it. #dobetter
