ⓘ What do the party and ideology labels mean?

On the ballot, partisan candidates run under a party — in Wisconsin almost always Democratic or Republican, with the occasional third-party or independent candidate. Words like progressive, conservative, libertarian, or democratic socialist are labels people use to describe themselves, not separate parties on the ballot. A label is a starting point; each candidate's sourced positions show where they actually stand.

    • ENDORSEMENT ALERT 🇺🇸 I'm truly honored to announce that retiring State Senator André Jacque has officially endorsed me to succeed him in Wisconsin's First Senate District. We will be well served by his outstanding leadership in what is an extremely important role." — State Senator André Jacque Senator Jacque has dedicated nearly two decades to serving Northeast Wisconsin. • I was told this was a bold and risky position to take. Maybe they're right. But I'm siding with the people of Wisconsin. I don't think it's worth giving up an inch of productive farmland for a data center. The push for more data centers comes from the same Madison insiders and lobbyists who rarely have to live with the consequences. Whether it's a data center or any other major development, these decisions belong to the people who call these places home, not Madison insiders, lobbyists, or outsider interests. We need to restore local control and put our communities back in the driver's seat. I have real concerns about permanently changing our landscape, taking farmland out of production, and changing the character of Northeast Wisconsin. Productive farmland is more than open space. It feeds our families, supports our farmers, strengthens our local economy, and sustains jobs throughout Northeast Wisconsin. Once it's gone, we don't get it back. If a community, through an open and transparent process, decides a major development is truly in its best interest, I respect that decision. But it should be their choice to make. I'll continue fighting to make sure the people who call Wisconsin home always have the strongest voice in shaping their future. #WorkingforWisconsin
