ⓘ What do the party and ideology labels mean?

On the ballot, partisan candidates run under a party — in Wisconsin almost always Democratic or Republican, with the occasional third-party or independent candidate. Words like progressive, conservative, libertarian, or democratic socialist are labels people use to describe themselves, not separate parties on the ballot. A label is a starting point; each candidate's sourced positions show where they actually stand.

ⓘ What is a voting record showing me?

A roll-call vote is a recorded yes/no vote in the legislature; 'aye' means yes and 'no' means no. A 'deciding vote' is one that changed the outcome. These are the candidate's actual recorded votes, linked to the official record.

    • Wisconsin taxpayers already fund higher education. They shouldn't have to write a separate check just to push students toward one particular degree chosen by Legislative Democrats. Wisconsin deserves better.

    • Wisconsin farmers don't get to skip the paperwork. Neither should the Wisconsin DOJ. Attorney General Kaul's office violated state law on basic appointment requirements while simultaneously fining farmers for minor technical violations. That is a double standard and it has to stop.

    • The Wisconsin DOJ called them volunteers. However, they were paid $90,000 by Bloomberg’s foundation for their services. Working inside the DOJ. Prosecuting Wisconsinites. That is not a volunteer. That is a problem.

    • After getting a bailout through Act 12, Milwaukee politicians are now pushing Senate Bill 761 to keep the money and erase the taxpayer protections that came with it. That’s your classic Democrat bait-and-switch.

    • Well there's no surprise here, but Legislative Democrats are trying to raise your taxes again. Apparently increasing your property taxes wasn't enough for them, because if Senate Bill 695 were implemented, local governments (cities, villages and towns) would be allowed to unilaterally implement a local sales tax.

    • Democrats want the government to take your land. Sounds crazy, right? Senate Bill 690 would give local governments the power to seize your private property through eminent domain. Not for roads or public safety, but to build bike trails. Wisconsinites deserve better than this insanity!
