What do the party and ideology labels mean?

On the ballot, partisan candidates run under a party — in Wisconsin almost always Democratic or Republican, with the occasional third-party or independent candidate. Words like progressive, conservative, libertarian, or democratic socialist are labels people use to describe themselves, not separate parties on the ballot. A label is a starting point; each candidate's sourced positions show where they actually stand.

What is a voting record showing me?

A roll-call vote is a recorded yes/no vote in the legislature; 'aye' means yes and 'no' means no. A 'deciding vote' is one that changed the outcome. These are the candidate's actual recorded votes, linked to the official record.

As Wisconsinites head out to celebrate Memorial Day, families are getting sticker shock as they fill up at the pump. Because of a war Rep. Steil voted for. It’s beyond time for Rep. Steil to start working to lower prices for the people he represents. Add your name to demand Bryan Steil stop raising our prices.

ActBlue’s CEO just REFUSED to answer my questions. Did she mislead Congress about illegal foreign donations flowing through ActBlue?

Bryan Steil's outrage towards Kirk Bangstad for suggesting violence against President Trump is empty and hollow due to his silence when Trump defended and pardoned January 6th rioters. I had friends and family in the Capitol building that day. They were put in danger by the reckless calls of President Trump to overturn a free and fair election. These individuals called for the hanging of former Vice President Mike Pence and violence against Nancy Pelosi, yet we heard nothing from Bryan. When the president joked about Nancy Pelosi's husband being attacked, we heard nothing from Bryan. When Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed and the president peddled conspiracy theories about it, silence from Bryan. Bryan Steil is more afraid of an angry tweet from Donald Trump than he is of an angry voter from the First District of Wisconsin. He is a noodle spine and rubber stamp for this administration. He will soon learn why that is a mistake. That also goes for his colleague Tom Tiffany who is only able to find a conscience when Donald Trump isn't the one doing the bullying. We need a representative who will stand up for our district and is not afraid to hold their party or president accountable when they are wrong. The Democratic Party of Wisconsin is justified in condemning Bangstad's remarks. I join them in denouncing any calls for political violence, which have no place in our politics. Holding people or organizations to account, even at the cost of donations is the right thing to do. This is why I ask them to keep that same energy and denounce the influence of AIPAC's dark money in our elections. I'll be holding a Town Hall on Thursday. We can talk more about it there.
